Today is Thursday!

Welcome back campers! We're looking forward to another great day at computer camp! We'll be talking about internet safety, learning about RSS Readers (and feeds), working on Dreamweaver to put together your webpage and more. It should be lots of fun!

I'd like you to complete the following tasks:

1. Check your email and email at least two other people here at camp. The subject of your email is up to you.
2. Look for some pictures on the internet that you'd like to put on your webpage. Right click on the picture, select SAVE AS and save it to your web folder that we looked at yesterday.
3. Order pizza (check out the other blog entry).
4. Download Scratch at http://scratch.mit.edu/. (Click on the link to take you to the site.)

Friday Fun Day!

Tomorrow is Friday Fun Day! Geek Squad is coming in to do some cool stuff! We've got t-shirts and certificates for you! We're ordering pizza for lunch and you will get to spend most of your time exploring and working on what interests you most. It's going to be great!

I'd like you to take a moment to place a pizza order. We will have cheese, pepperoni and sausage. Tell me how many slices you would like and what type of pizza. For example:

1 sausage

Install and fun site of the day

Hey guys,

Two things to do now that you're back from lunch.

1. Install audacity on your computer. Click on the link to downloada version 1.2.6 for Windows. Follow the directions. Press run.

2. Check out the fun site of the day. (hint: type in funny commands to see what the chicken will do)

Revving Up for Wednesday!

Welcome back to computer camp! I'm physically here today and we're going to be doing more cool stuff! Get ready for more learning and lots of fun!

Here are a few things that I'd like you to do to start Wednesday:

*Send an email to Jenny Buckley at jenbuckley@edina.k12.mn.us. Tell her what your favorite team is and why. CC it to me at jonbuckley@edina.k12.mn.us. (If you need help with any part of this task or any of the following tasks, please ask me. That's what I'm here for!)

*Find one really cool website. It can be a game website, a site about something that interests you, a video, etc. You will be sharing this website with the class so make sure it's something that others will find neat too.

*Watch the video below called Blogging in Plain English.


*Watch the video below called the Machine is Us/ing Us. Think about what it means.


We're also planning to do podcasting and webpage building today too. Remember if you have a question or need help troubleshooting something, just ask! It's going to be a great day!
